Authentic First Nations Artistry for Collaborative Learning Spaces

Crafted by artist Kiz Costelloe, this circular rug features vibrant traditional symbols representing community connection. Its soft, plush pile and meaningful iconography create a culturally rich focal point that anchors any classroom or library.

A note from the artist

When creating the yarning oval artwork, I’ve used symbols which represent “community” and “gathering”. They create a welcoming space for each individual to come together to create that community feeling where you can express your feelings, share knowledge and stories while in a safe space.
